Trends in Canada's electric utilities

Highlights from papers presented at a meeting of the Engineering and Operating Division of the Canadian Electrical Association are presented. One section is entitled 'Lessons of the Harrisburg failure.' It provides information about that accident and points out significant differences between Bruce NGS and Three Mile Island which make a similar type of accident at Bruce highly improbable. Another section gives Ontario Hydro's revised forecasts and schedules for new generating stations, particularly Bruce B and Darlington. A third section gives statistics of Canada's present and planned generating capacity, including nuclear. (N.D.H.)
