Proportional chamber with drift gap for ionization measurement
Description
The design and main characteristics of a proportional chamber with a drift gap are presented. It is shown that the energy resolution is equal to 3% for 5.2 MeV α-particles. The critical value of the product of gas amplification coefficient and radiation energy loss in the proportional chamber is about 3.107 eV per wire
