Description

The Agreement aims to establish conditions consistent with the NPT obligations of the two countries under which nuclear material can be transferred between them. It specifies that nuclear material transferred is not to be used for any military purpose. Compliance with this requirement is to be ensured by the IAEA safeguards system. In addition, each Party must take measures to ensure the physical protection of nuclear material within its jurisdiction

Abstract (French)

L'objet de l'Accord est d'etablir les conditions relatives aux obligations qui decoulent du TNP pour les deux pays et qui permettront le transfert de matieres nucleaires entre eux. Il precise que les matieres nucleaires transferees ne seront pas utilisees a des fins militaires. Le respect de ces conditions sera assure par l'application du Systeme de garanties de l'AIEA. Enfin, chaque partie est tenue de prendre les mesures necessaires pour assurer la protection physique des matieres nucleaires dans le cadre de sa juridiction
