Problems of first fueling of V-213 units
Description
In order to prevent the simultaneous shutdown of two units for refueling and general overhaul in the Jaslovske Bohunice locality (the V-1 and V-2 nuclear power plants with four WWER-440 units), unit 1 of the V-2 power plant was charged with non-standard fuel during start-up. This allowed to put off the future shutdown of the unit to a period outside of the term of the refueling and general overhaul of the V-1 units and to do this in the summer period; this because the V-2 units will serve to supply heat in the winter months to the town of Trnava. Non-standard fuel has an average enrichment of 2.32% U-235 as against standard enrichment of 2.49% U-235. The reactor duty cycle was shortened by 77 days thanks to the use of this non-standard fuel. Unit 2 of the V-2 power plant was charged with standard fuel. The shutdowns of all four units of the Jaslovske Bohunice nuclear power plant for refueling and general overhaul now fall within a balanced flow chart. (Z.M.). 1 fig
