Description
Acetoxy-1-hexadecene-9 is main component of the sex pheromone secreted by old World Bollworm. It can be used to lure the male bollworm to kill it. The author describes a method for the synthesis of [9,10-3H]-Acetoxy-1-hexadecene-9. 5 mg of acetoxy-1-hexadecine-9 and 2.5 mg of PdO-BaSO4 were mixed with 6 ml n-hexane and 6μl quinoline. tritiation was carried out at room temperature and atmospheric pressure for 5 minutes. Quinoline was washed away with 1 mol/L HCl and the active tritium was removed with alcohol. After purification by paper chromatography, the total yield was 5.07 x 109 Bq and the chemical purity was greater than 95%
