Description
Near-term actions concerned with deployment of advanced reactors discussed are: to complete report on recommended DOE activities, report will reflect generic and design specific issues, it should be issued by September 30, 2001. Significant activities are expected to include: Development of Regulatory Framework for Gas Reactor Technologies, Early Site Permit Demonstration, Combined Construction/Operating License Demonstration, and Design Certification of Advanced Reactors. Near-term actions concerned with technology road map are: to evaluate the most viable concepts, to compare concept performance to technology goals, to identify technology gaps, to identify R and D needed to close technology gaps and to prepare comprehensive report on most promising concepts including detailed R and D plan
