Villefranche du Queyran sheep farming agrivoltaic project - Agricultural preliminary study

  • 1. Chambre d'Agriculture du Lot et Garonne - CA47 (France)

Description

At the request of a farmer, REDEN company worked on the installation of an agrivoltaic power plant in the south-western Lot-et-Garonne in the commune of Villefranche du Queyran. The project involved 7.3 ha of fallow land far from the company's head office in the commune of Monheurt. At the same time, another farmer based in Villefranche du Queyran wanted to implement a photovoltaic project on neighboring plots. Following an environmental study and the implementation of avoidance measures, the first project, no longer economically viable, was extended to include the second project. The resulting project covers a total area of 12.98 ha. The agrivoltaic project presented here is the result of an exchange between the farmer who will implement the agricultural activity and the project developer, so as to adapt the installations to the needs of this activity (sheep farming). It also incorporates the results of technical and economic studies carried out beforehand and in parallel. As a result, the agricultural use of the plots concerned, although modified, will be maintained
