Description
The International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA) is an international association made up of individual members who are members of an affiliated national or regional radiation protection society. IRPA currently has more tah 15 000 individual members, involving over 40 different countries. The primary purpose of IRPA is to facilitate communication on radiation protection matters and hence advance the science of radiation protection. Congresses of IRPA have been held approximately every 4 yars since the firs such congress in 1966 and numbers of persons attending have beeen increasing with over 1200 registrants representing 60 countries arriving at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna for the ninth Congress. This report gives edited highlights from this reviewer's perspective. (author)
