Foreign gas broadening of the 51P1 level of Cd

Description
Level crossing in a transverse magnetic field in forward scattering is used to determine broadening cross sections by collisions between Cd (in the 51P1 level) and rare gases. Additionally the saturation intensity of the level-crossing curve is investigated as a function of the rare gas pressures. (orig.)
