Effect of ultraviolet light on fish cells in vivo and in vitro as revealed by feulgen-DNA cytofluorometry

  • 1. Shiga Univ. of Medical Science, Otsu (Japan)

Description

A cytofluorometric method which has been developed to study DNA repair in a heterogeneous cell population in particular, was apllied to examine the effects of UV light on DNA synthesis of the hepatocytes of the fish, oryzias, latipes. The occurrence of UDS and photoreactivation of DNA synthesis was indicated. In addition to these ''in vivo'' results, the establishment of an ''in vitro'' cultured fish cell line was briefly outlined. (author)
