Field verification by xeroradiography in Co-60-teletherapy of the head- and ENT-regions
Description
The possibility of direct field verification by xeroradiography in Co-60-teletherapy of the head- and ENT-regions is described. By the effect of intensified contours, anatomical details may present themselves sufficiently as to make possible an objective verification of the irradiation. The particular advantages of this method consist in the simple handling and in the acceleration of the therapy preparations as well as in the possibility of documentation of the radiotherapeutic treatment. It has to be examined if the xeroradiographical procedure can be utilized for direct verification of the fields in other regions of the body too. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Es wird die Moeglichkeit direkter Feldkontrollen bei der Telekobalttherapie im Schaedel- und HNO-Bereich mit der Xeroradiographie dargestellt. Durch den Effekt der Konturenverstaerkung koennen sich bei diesem Verfahren anatomische Details soweit darstellen, dass eine objektive Kontrolle der Bestrahlung ermoeglicht wird. Der besondere Vorteil dieses Verfahrens liegt in der einfachen Handhabung und in der Beschleunigung der Therapievorbereitung sowie in der Moeglichkeit der Dokumentation der Strahlentherapie. Es bleibt zu pruefen, ob das xeroradiographische Verfahren auch in anderen Koerperbereichen zur direkten Feldkontrolle herangezogen werden kann. (orig.)Additional details
