On the equality of the mean escape probability and mean net radiative bracket for line photons

Creators

  • 1. Australian National Univ., Canberra. Dept. of Engineering Physics

Description

It is pointed out that while the direct escape probability and net radiative bracket may not be equal at individual points in an isolated source, the mean values of these quantities (obtained by weighting with the source function and volume averaging) are identically equal, irrespective of the state of the source.
