CT diagnosis of gastrointestinal tract tumors
- 1. Saiseikai Kanagawa Hospital (Japan)
Description
The significance of preoperative CT for gastrointestinal tract tumors, primarily for judgement of tumor staging, was studied in 118 surgical cases of esophageal, gastric or colonic cancer. Because of its high diagnostic efficacy for liver metastasis and serous infiltration, CT was useful for assessment of the indication of laparotomy in cases of advanced cancer. The sensitivity for lymph node metastasis was low. (Chiba, N.)
