Shell model potentials for finite nuclei

Description

A method is outlined for the evaluation of shell model potentials from single-particle potentials calculated according to the stability prescriptions of even-even finite nuclei and to the saturation properties of the nuclear matter associated to each of them. The method is applied to a selected set of nuclei in the mass number interval ranging from A = 4 to A = 238
