Process and kinetics of the fundamental radiation-electrochemical reactions in the primary coolant loop of nuclear reactors

Description

In spite of the rather broad title of this report, its major part is devoted to the corrosion problems at the RA reactor, i.e. causes and consequences of the reactor shutdown in 1979 and 1982. Some problems of reactor chemistry are pointed out because they are significant for future reactor operation. The final conclusion of this report is that corrosion processes in the primary coolant circuit of the nuclear reactor are specific and that radiation effects cannot be excluded when processes and reaction kinetics are investigated. Knowledge about the kinetics of all the chemical reactions occurring in the primary coolant loop are of crucial significance for safe and economical reactor operation

Abstract (Serbian)

Bez obzira na sirinu naslova ovog rada, rad se svojim najvecim delom odnosi na probleme korozije na nuklearnom reaktoru RA, odnosno uzroke i posledice koje su dovele do zaustavljanja reaktora 1979. i 1982. godine. Ukazano je na neke probleme hemije reaktora koji su znacajni za dalji rad reaktora. Krajnji zakljucak ovog rada jeste da korozione reakcije koje se odvijaju u primarnom kolu hladioca nuklearnog reaktora imaju svoju specificnost i da se u interpretaciji mehanizma i kinetike ovih korozionih rekcija ne moze iskljuciti uticaj jonizujuceg zracenja. Poznavanje kinetike svih hemijskih reakcija u primarnom kolu hladjenja od presudnog je znacaja za siguran i ekonomican rad reaktora
