Crystal structure of the ternary R3Ag4Sn4 stannides (R = Y, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho) with Gd3Cu4Ge4-type structure

Description
The series of the R3Ag4Sn4 compounds (R = Y, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho) were prepared by arc melting. The crystal structure of the R3Ag4Sn4 ternary stannides was determined by powder X-ray diffraction method. All investigated compounds crystallize in the Gd3Cu4Ge4 structure type (space group Immm)
