Description

The X-ray detector comprises an X-ray detection element and a detection device responsive to fluorescent radiation generated in the X-ray detection element. The X-ray detection element comprises a fluorescent material with a short afterglow and a high sensitivity for X-radiation. At least one of the phosphors Y2SiO5:Ce, Y2Si2O7:Ce or Y3Al5O12:Ce is used
