First results obtained with a negative hydrogen-ion source using charge-exchange on a gas (1961)

Description
A source of H- ions is described which uses the charge exchange between positive hydrogen ions and a gas (hydrogen or argon). This device makes it possible to obtain 3 μA of H- ions, the exchange yield being about 3 per cent in the best conditions. (author)
