Description
This paper first considers the standards of radiological protection required over the next two or three decades. The effect of these standards upon the future design targets for shielding, containment, operation and maintenance is then discussed. Finally, after looking at some of the problems with present-day PIE facilities, the paper indicates some possible future developments that could meet the set design targets satisfactorily. (author)
