Description
Crystals of Na β''-alumina were irradiated with argon ions at energies of 380 and 760 keV with the same fluence (4 x 1016 ions cm-2) and beam current ( 1013 ions s-1 cm-2). The modifications induced by the implants were characterized by nuclear analyses (Rutherford backscattering spectrometry and nuclear reaction analysis) and optical techniques (0.2-3.0 μm transmittance). Sodium profile modifications were related to the optical results. (author)
