Description

In a two-step procedure N-(2,6-diethyl-acetanilido-)iminodiacetic acid (diethyl-HIDA) was synthesized from 2,6-diethylaniline and iminodiacetic acid with an output corresponding to the original prescription. Due to the performed investigations (determination of the melting point, microelementary analysis, electron impact mass spectrum, NMR and IR spectrum) the substance proved to be identical with the corresponding commercial preparation. The permission for the use of the sup(99m)Tc-labelled preparation as radiopharmaceutical for biliary duct scintigraphy in nuclear medicine was granted by the Institut fuer Arzneimittelwesen of the GDR.
