Connection of a system of low-parameter cooling of nuclear power plants, particularly those with high-output PWR type reactors

Description

The cooling system consists of a subsystem of turbine steam condensate cooling and secondary circuit coolers, a cooling subsystem of primary circuit coolers that are of minor importance, and a cooling subsystem of primary circuit coolers that are of major importance with respect to nuclear safety. In the piping of the important cooling water is inserted a water/water type heat exchanger whose heat removal side is interfaced to the make-up cooling water piping, e.g. to its section after the water reservoir. The exchanger replaces the spray pool. The total water consumption in this arrangement is lower at least by the entrainment of the water droplets from the spray pools, which amounts to approximately 50 kg/s. The conditions for maintaining the cooling water quality are better. The cooling device is compatible with the current cooling tower design. (M.D.). 2 figs
