Shielding rod assemblies for LWR reactor cores

Description
A shielding rod assembly to be used instead of standard fuel assemblies for decreasing the damaging neutron fluence through the reactor vessel is described. It contains solid metal rods, tightened together by rings and their lower parts are placed in a tray of a shape similar to that of the rings and with openings for the coolant. The central rods are fixed to the tray. The proposed design allows to simplify the technology of production as well as the mounting
