Education of clinical physicists at the University of Trondheim - Norges Tekniske Hoegskole

Description

The Dept. of Applied Physics at Trondheim University considered various alternatives for the education of clinical physicists several years ago. As the number required is relatively small, separate classes could not be established, but it has been possible to include a broad curriculum of biological and medical topics in the regular 4-year study of physics without leaving out so many topics as to impair the fundamental education in physics. The level can, however, only be introductory and further post graduate education is required. The course is completed with a six-month diploma investigation and dissertation. Post graduate training may be had at the Norwegian Radium Hospital. It is planned to have about 6-8 students graduate per year. (JIW)
