Study of α emission from dinuclear systems in coincidence with the 'fast fission' channel

Description
We have measured α emission in coincidence with the ''fast-fission'' channel in 350 MeV 35Cl + Ag reactions in order to study α emission from the dinuclear system. However, sequential emission from fission fragments obscures simple interpretation of measured α energies and angular correlations. Refined calculations and completing experiments are in progress in order to isolate α emission prior to scission and to draw shape information therefrom. (orig.)
