Methods of decontamination and NPP equipment dismantling

Description

Methods of decontamination (chemical, electrochemical and nonchemical/ or mechanical ones) and dismantling of NPP equipment are considered. Chemical methods of decontamination are subdivided to 'rigid' and 'soft' ones with reagents of high and low concentration. Consideration is given to APAC-process and its modification APACE, APOX- and APCITROX-processes, APSUL-process, CAPA-, MOPAC-modified version of APAC/APOX, as well as to 'soft' processes: CAN-DECON, LOMI, OZOX-A, KOD. Electrochemical decontamination is based on anodic dissolution of metal surface layer, containing α-, β-, γ-contaminants. Mechanical methods are based on physical removal of radiactive contaminants from the surface, using different mechanical means. Plants dismantling includes cutting (segmentation) and destruction of concrete structures or removal of the surface layer of these structures
