Investigation into equilibrium of niobium with its ions in chloride-fluoride melts
Description
E.m.f. between a niobium and a silver electrode is measured to study the equilibrium of Nb with K2NbF7 in chloride-fluoride melts (KCL-NaCl). The average valency of Nb in the melts is estimated, and the temperature dependences are reported for the conventional standard electrode potentials Nb/Nb5+ and Nb3+/Nb5+ with respect to the chlorine reference electrode
