He isotope concentrations in groundwater - measurement and interpretation
Description
While up to now metrological problems obstructed the use of 3He as hydrological tracer, the 4He content of groundwater samples presented difficulties for interpretation. In the framework of this study, first of all, metrological problems in connection with the determination of helium isotope contents in groundwater samples were solved. Then the possibilities and limits of dating measured 3He values could be determined. For the interpretation of the age of 4He contents extended model concepts were used. (orig./RB)

Waehrend bei 3He bisher messtechnische Probleme einer Anwendung als hydrologischer Tracer entgegenstanden, bereiteten die 4He-Gehalte von Grundwasserproben Schwierigkeiten bei der Interpretation. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurden zunaechst messtechnische Probleme geloest, die mit der Bestimmung von Heliumisotopengehalten in Grundwasserproben verbunden sind. Anschliessend konnten die Moeglichkeiten und Grenzen der Datierungsaussagen von 3He-Messwerten bestimmt werden. Zur altersmaessigen Interpretation von 4He-Gehalten wurden erweiterte Modellvorstellungen eingesetzt. (orig./RB)
