Crossed cerebellar diaschisis in cerebral vascular disease detected by 123I-IMP SPECT

  • 1. Hyogo College of Medicine (Japan)

Description

Factors influencing the occurrence of crossed cerebellar diaschiasis (CCD) were examined using I-123 IMP SPECT in a total of 43 patients with various cerebral vascular diseases. In 11 patients (26%), CCD was demonstrated on I-123 IMP SPECT. It was observed during not only acute but also chronic stages. In addition to the parietal lesions, the penetrating branch of the middle cerebral artery was occasionally involved in the occurrence of CCD. (Namekawa, K)
