Description

This paper is concentrated mainly to the improvement of relative dosimetry with silicon semiconductor detectors, by investigating the main effects of the correction factors on silicon diode detectors to prepare it as a verification system for dose delivered to patient through the treatment sessions. we used two n-type silicon diode detectors, 0.6 cm3 NE farmer ionization chamber, solid and water phantoms irradiated by photon beams with energies of CO-60 and 6 MV x-ray of linear accelerator. Our study revealed that n-type silicon semiconductor detectors could be used satisfactory for routine dosimetry and the dose delivery has been within clinically acceptable tolerance. The silicon semiconductor detector has been also helped to improve awareness in practice by taking into consideration some factors that introduce errors into the treatment process
