Fuel assemblies for BWR type reactors

Description

Purpose: To suppress the maximum value of the power distribution in fuel assemblies by charging fuel rods having uranium 235 concentration and burnable poison content different from each other appropriately to each of the regions. Constitution: Fuel assemblies are arranged on four sides of a control rod in a cross-like cross section. Fuel rods and water rods are disposed within a channel box. The fuel rods and the water rods are supported at the both ends by upper tie plates and lower tie plates respectively and supported at the intermediate portions by spacers at an appropriate interval. The fuel rods are dispersed in 1st - 11th regions, in which the uranium 235 concentration and the burnable poison content in each of the regions are properly determined. (Horiuchi, T.)
