Description

Description is given of a device for the remote control of a structure in particular of the main vessel of a nuclear reactor lined by a so-called safety vessel. That device is characterized in that it comprises a self-propelled carriage carrying inspection members (ultrasonic testing) and adapted to move in the intermediate space defined by the main vessel and the safety vessel, said carriage, combined with a driving mechanism, co-operating with the opposite wall of the safety-vessel by adhering to that wall and being mounted at the extremity of a composite cable for feeding said carriage with power and with the various fluids necessary for positioning and activating said inspection members while, at the same time, that cable ensures the introduction of said carriage into, and its retraction from, said intermediate space

Abstract (French)

On decrit un dispositif de controle a distance d'une structure, notamment de la cuve principale d'un reacteur nucleaire, double exterieurement par une cuve dite de securite. Ce dispositif se caracterise en ce qu'il comporte un chariot automoteur portant des organes d'inspection (controle par ultra-sons), apte a se deplacer dans l'espace intermediaire entre la cuve principale et la cuve de securite, ce chariot associe a un mecanisme d'entrainement propre, cooperant avec la paroi en regard de la cuve de securite en se plaquant contre cette paroi et etant monte a l'extremite d'un cable composite, realisant l'alimentation du chariot en energie et en differents fluides necessaires au positionnement et au fonctionnement des organes d'inspection en meme temps que ce cable assure l'introduction et le retrait du chariot dans l'espace intermediaire
