Level of natural background radiation and doses to population in Jiangxi province
Description
This paper reports on the results of survey of natural background radiation dose rates measured with FD-71 scintillation radiometers and the assessment of population doses in Jiangxi Province. The average values of absorbed dose rates in air from terrestrial gamma radiation are 10.1 x 10-8 Gy.h-1 and 9.8 x 10-8 Gy.h-1 for outdoors and roads, respectively. The ratio of the indoor-to-outdoor absorbed dose rates in air is 1.45. The annual effective dose equivalent to population from natural background radiation is 1.07 mSv and the annual collective effective dose equivalent is 3.48 x 104 man.Sv
