Description
This paper describes a device that can conduct simultaneous x-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) studies on the same sample. Topics considered include monitoring crystallinity during calorimetry using DSC/XRD, analyzing polymorphic interconversions, and the decomposition and reduction of malachite. It is demonstrated that the described instrument can deliver various types of data in a single experiment, saving time and insuring that the same set of materials and processes are monitored by all techniques
