Power handling capability of the THERAC structure
Description
The power handling capability and maximum duty factor of a 1.2 m long structure used in the THERAC accelerators are determined by computer modeling of the thermal stresses and by scaling the results of high power tests with a 2.45 GHz on-axis coupled structure. A higher power version of this structure that could be made with improved cooling is described
