Features of spin-lattice relaxation of doped rare-earth ions in monocrystals KY3F10 at low temperatures

  • 1. Kazanskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Kazan (Russian Federation)

Description

Paper presents measurement results of Nd3+ ion spin-lattice relaxation in KY3F10 monocrystals. Measurements were conducted by pulse saturation ion within 9.4 GHz frequency at various orientations of the external magnetic field as to crystal symmetry axes within 1.5 - 30 K temperature range. Temperature dependence of relaxation rate is similar to one observed earlier for Ce3+ and Yb3+ ions, and at temperatures lower than 5 K T1-1 ∼ Tn with n = 1.6 - 4 for different specimens. Possibility to explain such dependence on the ground of concepts elaborated to interpret the relaxation data for amorphous materials is discussed. 15 refs., 1 fig
