Behaviour of boron nitride in hydrothermal conditions

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow (Russian Federation). Inst. Obshchej i Neorganicheskoj Khimii

Description

Behaviour of boron nitride under hydrothermal conditions (t=250 and 400 deg C; p=15-100 atm) was studied using steam, as well as steam containing alkaline component, as a hydrothermal medium. Behaviour of turbostrate and partially graphitized BN under hydrothermal conditions results in boron nitride decomposition into ammonium polyborates, polymers of complex composition (BNH)x and boron oxide. Under certain conditions BNr can be crystallized
