The system for accelerated beam intensity sharing in the synchrotron extraction channels
Description
To enhance the accuracy and stability of the beam intensity sharing among the extraction channels of a synchrotron, it is suggested to introduce into a device, incorporating internal targets installed along the equilibrium orbit with a certain radial displacement and a system for the accelerated beam simultaneous alignment with all the targets, the synchrotron magnetic field gradient regulator and the secondary emission intensity sensor in the main extraction channel. The sensor output is connected with one of the gradient regulator inputs, the other gradient regulator input being connected with the accelerator timer system. A slight variation in the magnetic field gradient results in a finer adjustment of the beam intensity distribution than in its adjustment by a change in the beam-centre-of-gravity vertical coordinate
