Investigation into formation and reduction of phosphouranomolybdenum complex

Description
Complexing in the system U6-P5-Mo6 has been studied. The formation of two ternary complexes with a ratio P:U6:Mo=1:1:11 and 1:2:10 has been shown. The kinetics of the reaction of phosphomolybdic complex reduction with ascorbic acid has been investigated in the presence of U4. Phosphomolybdic blue is the final product of the reduction. The catalytic action of U4 may be due to the formation of an active ternary complex with a ratio of the components P:U:Mo=1:2:10 which decomposes during reduction with the formation of phosphomolybdic blue
