The Maier-Leibnitz technique for amplitude weighting and its application to determining a gamma, neutron, or charged particle averaged weighted spectrum

Description

The MAIER-LEIBNITZ amplitude weighting technique is described. This technique has been applied to a gamma detector to get a response equal to the total energy of the incident gamma spectrum or equal to the total number of incident gamma. The technique can be used to get a response equal to other weighted averages of the spectrum. It can be also used for neutron or charged particle spectra

Abstract (French)

On decrit la technique de ponderation des amplitudes de MAIER-LEIBNITZ. Elle a ete appliquee a un detecteur de rayonnement gamma pour obtenir une reponse egale a l'energie gamma totale recue par le detecteur ou egale au nombre total de gamma incidents. Cette technique peut etre egalement employee pour determiner d'autres moyennes ponderees du spectre de gamma. On peut aussi l'appliquer a un spectre de neutrons ou de particules chargees
