Clinical applied study on metal stent and radiotherapy for carcinomatous stricture of esophagus

Description

Objective: To explore the method of domestic-made esophageal stent implantation under X-ray, the possibility and value of radiotherapy with stent for carcinomatous stricture of esophagus. Methods: The data of 158 patients with esophageal stent implantation und X-ray were summarized. The possibility and effective of conventional divide irradiation with esophageal stent were analyzed emphatically in 86 patients. Results: 162 esophageal stents were implanted successfully in 158 patients except one failure for esophageal stenosis severely. Dysphugia was relieved immediately after the esophageal stent implantation. Bingding with radiotherapy especially, the quality of life was improved obviously and the survival period was prolonged. Complication such as hemorrhages and perforation were not seen among all the patients. Conclusion: The method of domestic-made esophageal stent implantation under X-ray is safely, and the effective. It would be more effective if with esophageal stent. Esophageal stent implantation and radiotherapy have become the first choice of treatment for carcinomatous stricture of esophageal in its late stage. (authors)
