Study on evaluation method for radiation effects and its standard conditions

  • 1. Electrotechnical Lab., Tsukuba, Ibaraki (Japan)

Description

The Electrotechnical Laboratory has contributed to upgrading of measurement accuracy and reliability on radiation by establishing various standards, confirming worldwide uniformity due to international comparison, and supplying to various organizations as a sharing organization of national standard on various amounts of radiation. Then, advancements on neutron fluence at middle speed energy region, absolute measuring method of super soft X-ray flux, precision measuring method of radioactivity, and so forth, were intended to execute. And, on elementary process of interaction between radiation and substances and precision measurement of microscopic effect, some interesting results of data accumulation on stopping power of charged particles to gases and of defect formation due to radiation effect of fast neutron on compound semi-conductors could be obtained.
