Genomic instability after low level irradiation in the zone of Chernobyl disaster and in laboratory conditions
- 1. AN SSSR, Moscow (Russian Federation). Inst. Khimicheskoj Fiziki
Description
The results of series investigations of late effects after Chernobyl accident are discussed. Genomic instability induced by chronic irradiation of cultural cells in Chernobyl zone and in laboratory conditions have been studied. It was shown that low level prolonged irradiation result in increase of frequency of cells with micronuclei, giant cells, enhancement of radiosensitivity in descandents of early irradiated cells. Comparative investigation of adaptive response in blood lymphocytes of people living in Moscow and in regions polluted with radionuclides after Chernobyl disaster have been conducted.
