Description

We study the Λ(1405) resonance production reaction employing the coupled-channels Alt-Grassberger-Sandhas equations. Full three-body calculations for the K-barNN - πYN amplitudes are carried out on the physical real energy axis. The signature of the Λ(1405) in the cross sections of the K-d → πΣn reactions is investigated in view of the planned E31 experiment at J-PARC. We consider the two types of meson-baryon potential models: an energy-dependent interaction, and an energy-independent one. These two models have different off-shell properties that imply correspondingly different behavior in the three-body system. We find characteristic patterns distinguishing between the two models in the invariant mass spectrum of the final πΣ state. We thus demonstrate that the K-d → πΣn reaction is a useful tool for investigating the subthreshold behavior of the K-barN interaction. (author)
