Azimuthal asymmetry of QCD strings as a critical experiment for string fragmentation picture

Description

Phenomena in which color-suppressed contributions to the angular distribution of multiplicity fluxes dominate over the color leading terms corresponding to the string fragmentation picture is discussed. It is shown that, in case of large transverse momenta pt p-barp interactions, QCD and its large color number Nc limit lead to opposite-sign predictions for the azimutal asymmetry of the quark jets
