Spectrophotometric determination of zirconium in zirconium steel

Description
A method for the extraction and spectrophotometric determination of 10-200 ppm of zirconium, based on the red coloured compound formed between promethazine and zirconium-thiocyanate in 1-3.5M sulphuric acid medium, is described. Various parameters have been standardised. The proposed method is successfully applied for the trace determination of zirconium in zirconium steel. (author)
