The characters of slab lasers
Description
A viewpoint of Zig-Zag slab lasers having intrinsic pseudoconjugate properties due to total internal reflection is proposed and demonstrated. The compensating ability of slab laser against the optical distortion is analysed. The modes of slab solid-state lasers are derived by a new concept. Fundamental, high-order transverse modes, beam divergences and diffraction loss are remarkable differences in different directions. However, longitudinal modes are asymmetrical standing waves.
