Remote controlled gripping systems for objects in radiation exposed facilities

Description

A device is suggested with which one can introduce or remove samples to be irradiated from the nuclear reactor, into the desired positions in air or under water. It is a mechanical device comprising a casing with a gripping system which brings a plug cell (surrounding the samples) to the desired position by means of a catch arrangement. Technical details are given. The relatively simple construction renders the device very operationally safe and versatile. (orig./PW)
