Structure of electrodeposited alloys of metals of iron subgroup

Description

The structure of alloys of iron subgroup metals produced under different electrolysis conditions has been investigated. The alloys are shown to be characterized by fine-grained and defect structure that is conditioned by high polarization of the cathode at their deposition and accessory processes on the cathode (extaction of hydrogen, formation of hydroxidic compounds of deposited metals). Increase of alloying element content in alloys results in grain refining and increase of probability of structural imperfection formation. In respect to the electrolysis conditions one-phase precipitants of alloys are crystallized with growth texture characteristic for metal-solvent, the type and perfection of the texture being determined by the value of cathode polarization
