Mechanical behavior of zircaloy-2 and SUS 316 cladding tubes under biaxial stresses
- 1. Kobe Steel Ltd. (Japan). Central Research and Development Lab.
Description
The mechanical behavior of Zircaloy-2 and SUS 316 cladding tubes was tested under biaxial combined stresses. The test results show that the mechanical behavior of each tube material was quite different, Zircaloy-2 acting anisotropically and SUS 316 showing isotropic characteristics. It was also found that the actual yield loci, as well as ductility curves (stress ratio dependence of ductility), can be approximately estimated by the anisotropic theory of plasticity based upon the results of uniaxial tensile tests.
